19 Unused disk out of 28 Pools Good

Hello, I am running TrueNas Scale ElectricEel-24.10.2.4 and recently transferred my pools to a new server. My Storage shows 19 unused disk and 28 total disks. I have an LSI_SAS_9300-16i_UG Raid Controller Card with a BPN-SAS3-846EL 1 backplane. Asus Pro WS W790E-SAGE SE w Xeon w3-2425 and 256 GiB ECC ram. I have 3 pools 2 RaidZ3 w 10 drives various sizes and 1 nvme with Applications on it. When I try to Add to Pool it will not let me separate

to each pool. Any ideas? Thank You, Mark

Your menus look funny. I can’t tell what menu option(s) you are on. Try rebooting or a previous boot environment, if you have one to see if it clears up.

Post screenshots of your current pool set up, Applications, Data, Movies

Just making sure you only have one connection from the HBA and not two for ‘dual path’ or something like that

Do you have more than one cable going from your LSI Controller to your backplane?

Damn me! Yes, I had two cables connected. Removed one and all good. Thank You All!

Some of the LSI 16 port controllers are actually 2 x 8 port chips with a PCIe switch between the SAS controller chips and the PCIe bus. Thus, if you select 2 ports, but on different chips, you get multi-pathing which is not supported.

However, if you truly wanted the potential extra speed / bandwidth to a SAS expander, you can have 2 cables, just make sure they are on the same chip.

Brillant! This must have been the way I had it setup on old server because I always had two cables. Switched to LSI same port chip and works perfect. Thank You
