I am currently on 25.04 and looking to upgrade to 25.10 once the remaining SMB bugs, especially vis a vis Time Machine are fixed in 25.10.1. However, I saw that the automated SMART test GUI was removed this version. Currently I have set a schedule of automated SMART tests in 25.04, will those be removed or altered if I upgrade?
While I’m not positive, only because I have not migrated to 25.10.0, but you can still manually setup SMART tests. Or you can use something like Multi-Report.
I more want to know what will happen to any automated SMART test schedules I have already set up. Ideally the answer would be “nothing” and if it isn’t I’ll figure out what to do from there.
They’ll be migrated to cron tasks, but you’ll be on your own to change them or add others.
