Disc broken or not broken

Dear forum members,

Can anyone tell me if one or more discs are broken?
I don’t see any error messages, but ZFS health is still not good.
Truenas alerts say irreparable error.
Of the three discs, two are five years old and have been running constantly.
CrystalDiskInfo says that the discs are fine.
See attached photos with messages.

I would appreciate your advice.

Have same issue, ZFS pool degraded but havent any errors or other issues in TrueNAS interface. SMART of all disk is good, dont have any errors. Reboot or pool scrub doesnt make any difference.

Try running the following in the Shell. Are you seeing errors?
sudo zpool status -v

@KJM Do you have mismatched devices in you BackUps VDEV / pool? Topologie errors are usually single stripe or mismatched devices. Just guessing on that one

@SmallBarky
@hohner36

After sudo zpool status -v,
I got a CKSUM error message.
But no error with error code, see photo.
A scrubbing afterwards didn’t help either.

I just updated Truenas to 25.04.2.5, and sure enough, the zfs error message is gone.

Harddisk vendors usually have tools for checking hard disks. They ofen receive disks that seem to be defective but aren’t. So they provide tools to check the drive state.

Another common cause are power supplies. I’ve got a system that had a semi-good power supply. It booted fine and worked fine but gave errors from time to time. Turned out that the power supply didn’t provide enough power. Swapped that and never had faults again.
