Hi everyone,
I have 2 Truenas boxes, one for production and one for backup, the backup is a Gen9 ML150 with an H220 HBA IT mode, it boots up on Sunday early morning, fetches the snapshots from the big brother Gen9 DL380 as well as an rsync for extra precaution and powers off.
The general consensus is to use LSI based HBAs, my Gen9 DL380 LFF has a p840ar running in HBA, and although not perfect it is running fine, and in case something happens I have a backup, now here is my question :
- How do I check if Truenas is happy the way the drives are presented? any commands to run?
- If I decide to go with LSI SAS 9305-16i, will I lose the activity led on the drive caddies?
- The Gen9 DL380 LFF has a weird backplane layout,15 drives for 3 x sff-8087 SAS connectors, do I still need an expander for LSI SAS 9305-16i while using only 3 sff-8644 to sff-8087 for the whole 15 drives?
- What should be the expected performance for a raidz2 with a single vdev made of 14x3tb drives and 64gb of RAM?
Thanks for your answers
