For the lurker that I am I didn’t even realized that I had an account only on the old forum and not here 
I missed a lot of stuff and apparently drama around TrueNAS. Most of it intentionally, simply waiting for things to settle. As it seems that they did, today I migrated from Core to Scale. Went OK, my shares seem fine, scared about the fate of my Mellanox ConnectX-3 which seems also fine etc - though for the life of me I don’t understand why I had to go through the previous version to get to ElectricEel-24.10.0.2 . Missed something, anyways.
But thanks for that, as I realize it is a big achievement to switch OSes and have an easy transition for people.
Now to the Apps. My goals are simple:
- I have 2 NICs and the containers should be accessible on a specific one. How do I do that, bind them to a single interface only?
- Everything regarding the containers should be in a certain central dataset, in the main volume, encrypted and snapshot-ed and easy to backup/replicate. Feel free to give me any hints, as the interface seems to push me to get another volume…?
For the sake of a “clean slate” I will not provide any info regarding the monkey stuff I did today… just to have the app not running or the like lol The only one I got up with the default settings is Unifi, but it doesn’t sees my AP.
I need to start with the following apps: Unifi Controller, Heimdall, Syncthing and Jellyfin if it helps the context. And next, a few new ones for me - Minio, the PDF thingy, plus an LLM.
