Hi everyone,
Quick intro: I’m Hans, a long-time TrueNAS user and the developer of NAS Guard, an iOS app that brings TrueNAS monitoring and push alerts to your iPhone.
I’m not here to sell anything. NAS Guard started as a small personal project because I wanted a clean way to keep an eye on my NAS without constantly opening the web interface. If you run TrueNAS and carry an iPhone, feel free to check it out.
What it does:
- Pushes TrueNAS alerts straight to your iPhone
- Gives a clear overview of pool and job status
- Live Activities for scrubs, replications, cloud syncs, and the like
- A small agent that watches TrueNAS directly and triggers notifications
What it isn’t:
- Perfect. We had issues in the past with missed or duplicate notifications. That’s exactly why we rebuilt the backend and the agent from the ground up. The current release should be much more stable.
I’m not hiding behind an anonymous developer account — I’m here to get honest feedback. Criticism, questions, feature requests: all welcome.
If you want a dedicated place to discuss NAS Guard, we also run a small community forum at https://community.no-logs.de. Bug reports, ideas, and general chatter all live there. Stop by if you like.
Cheers,
Hans
