Home network speeds

I’m purely posting this because I’m curious to how many people have thrown the $$$ at the home network to move on from 1Gbit ?

  • 100 Mbit/s
  • 1 Gbit/s
  • 2.5 Gbit/s
  • 5 Gbit/s
  • 10 Gbit/s
  • 25 Gbit/s
  • Faster than 25 Gbit/s (Speed, I am speed)

I have a mixed network currently. 1Gbps most devices. 10Gbps fiber link between NAS and Windows 10. Laser printer is 100Mbs attached to 1Gbps switch

I voted 1Gbps since that is majority of ports.

My pfSense box is 10Gbps-ready and i have a spare X550-T2 which i could squeeze into my TrueNAS server but since there is no ISP offering 10Gbps in our neighborhood at the moment, i don’t see the point of upgrading my switch and stuff.
