All I have is Handbrake to convert and it only has mkv, mp4 and webm, non of which are compatible with the upload button.
Don’t share the Parent or Root dataset. You create a child and share that. Root or truenas_admin don’t have SMB sharing rights by default. You create a user for sharing and that user owns the SMB shared dataset. There were changes from Core to Scale. You may have to work on moving data from the root to the children and fixing your shares. You will need to fix the permissions after moving your data around.
At the moment I have no choice (I saw the warning on setting) Sharing the child does nothing as points 1 > 5 above. In Core there was never a warning as also it may have been a throwback from the GELI days.
I only have children under the root. Tank > Tank child > folders and files. This was done years ago when I went from GELI to ZFS Dataset encryption.
At the moment looks I’m left with exporting the whole pool and starting again as with it’s children for as said I can’t access anything unless I create a new child and create a share for the root dataset. I’m hoping recreating the new pool and children will fix things. It’ going to take days.
I’m thinking about how much damage I’ve done if I go back to Core.
