Hello Guys,

I’ve been planning to use Immich as photo storage but I’m new to it and not sure what option would be the best in terms of reliability, performance and data safety. Also, please pardon me if this forum is not the appropriate to ask this question.

So, I see a couple of ways to deploy Immich:

  1. Install Immich on my IoT server that runs Ubuntu as bare metal. Both the database and photo storage happens on this system.
  2. Install Immich as an App on TrueNAS and store the photos/videos on one of the pool.
  3. Install Immich on my IoT server that runs Ubuntu as bare metal. Store the database on this bare metal system and photos on a TrueNAS pool.

Out of these 3, what would be the best? Any ideas/suggestions are highly welcomed. If there any other ways like Proxmox/ESXi, I would like to know them as well.
