all of my vms have macvlan (for good reasons)
i changed the pcie devices in the server (but not networking cards), this broke all VMs and CTs using macvlan as the underlying nic name had changed.
was fixed my adding and removing the macvlans on each nic, which of course changes the generate macs (i think…)
Yes i understand this is good old linux unreliable reliable naming… and IMO is yet another +1 on why its stupid… i would love to see a truenas consistent interface nam mapping feature
/jk /njk
i also oddly have this weird macvlan nic which never used to exist (the second in the pic), i guess it is a virtual interface orhpaned when the interface name changed, maybe the feature should be if this happens rebind that macvlan to the new active interface automagically? (i am sure that is dumb, i just like an easy life)
