Migrating Kavita (and other apps) from TrueNAS-managed to Portainer-managed in 25.10

What is the best method of migrating a Application from being managed by TrueNAS to being managed by Portainer?

One of the reasons is that Kavita is stuck at 0.8.8.0 and the latest version is Kavita 0.8.8.3 which isn’t being caught by TrueNAS . I had reported this first at Kavita 0.8.8.3 Released - But not yet in the TrueNAS App store and then at the Jira at [Enhancement]: Update Kavita to 0.8.8.3 · Issue #3494 · truenas/apps · GitHub where the response was:

There is no such tag on docker hub.

Once thats available, our bot will pick it up

I suppose that is: Create the application anew in Portainer, and point any mounted storage to what you already had.

Maybe convert the catalog app to custom, and copy-paste the resulting .yaml into Portainer as a start?
