Network Credentials Windows 11

I recently installed Truenas Scale onto my Nas Core server. That went fine but when I tried to map to the server I got the: Windows Security Enter credentials to connect to: 00.00.00.00

I tried the former information, no joy. I reset the username and pw to nas, no joy. I went through powershell to make changes, no joy. I blew up my computer and reset everything, still no joy.

The former password was working right after I installed nas scale, then nothing. I doccument everything to prevent this kind of thing. Nothing I have tried will get me the username and password to allow me to map the drive to my server so I can setup my files. I can see everything intact on the server with file zilla and when I look at nas scale on the computer, I just cannot map the drive, I’m at me wits end!

What username are you using?

When I reset the computer I setup a new password to solve the windows security request, no joy. I have the username and PW for the server but that has not helped. So far, for me, it’s about why the old UN and PW failed and how can I access it. There must be a way to find it through powershell or control panel.

You could, you know, try answering the question

I am using the username and password for the nas server. I have also tried the username and password for the computer.

BTW. thank you for taking the time to help, much appreciated.

Since it seems like you don’t want to tell us what the username is I will ask some specific questions:

  • Is this username root or something you picked yourself?
  • If something else, is it a standard username consisting of letters a-z and/or numbers, without any special characters?

Yet you still fail to clearly answer the question. So now I have to guess. This is the last communication you will get from me on this thread - I am out

I think you are trying to use root - that will not work. You need to set up an SMB user in scale and use that
