But there is no three-month limit. Each user gets a certain number of votes (I thought it was 10, but it might depend on trust level), that they can use as they wish. When a FR is closed, all users’ votes on that request are released back to those users. The stated intent is to make votes a scarce resource, so that users will vote for what’s most important to them.
This system isn’t perfect, of course; among its greater problems is that iX isn’t very timely in acting on the feature requests. But that’s the stated reason why it is what it is.
all I know, it does not work. with my system a feature can get downvoted which can be just as important gauging the community thoughts towards an idea.
For instance I have 20+ feature ideas which I have been told each need posting separately.
I reached out to @ABain to ask this question. It seems come come up periodically and I too thought when the feature was either declined or accepted, your vote was released. It doesn’t seem so.
Go to the FR category and then click on ‘My Votes’ at the top. It should show what votes you have associated with the posts. Do you have any votes listed with declined or accepted issues?
@dan
You are correct. Once the recommended posting is either approved or tossed in the bit bucket, your vote should be release back to you. @ABain said they are getting ready to process some feature requests. I would not expect this to happen right away, but they are aware.
Wasn’t pool througput available on the dashboard once? I think I remember seeing that stat in the version of freenas/Truenas when I first started using it. But I can’t remember which version it was
