Will this section be repopulated with the same Containers if I back up my configuration and import it into a newly formatted SSD? Thank you.

Since the container configs are stored on the pool you’ve selected when you activted the apps service and not on the boot-pool a config reset should also restore the settings for the apps service. If it does not you should only have to choos the same pool for the apps service when asked and your apps should start fine.
By apps, you mean Containers right?
Since the screen for apps and container looks almost identical i’ve confused the two, my bad. But for container it’s the same as for vms. The config restores both. so yes a config restore will also repopulate the container section.
