Read/write help

Hi guys

I have two identical NAS (Prime/Shadow), the shadow stays off i power it up once a month and run a script to duplicate the content and then turn it off

They are as follows

Threadripper 1950x
128gb RAM
They have three pools
A = 8x6tb SAS Drives RAIDZ1
+ 2x128gb Log VDEV
B = 8x400gb SSD RAIDZ1
C = 2x500gb NVME

No matter what i write to the NAS i am now only getting 11mbps throughput, i could maybe accept that of spinning rust but its the same when i copy to with teh SSD pool or NVME

Same thing is happening on both NAS

I have tried with SYNC of the pools as ‘always’ but im not getting anywhere. I tried on the 1gb onboard NIC and bought a 2.5gb TP-Link TX201 but its still the same

I’d really appricate some advice

Have verified link speed with iperf3?
Ideally, you want to rule out an issue with the network early.

11mbps is in “faulty cable” or “using a 25 year old network hub I found in the closet”-territory.

totally me being a plonker. These NAS are in my loft along with boxes of cables (cause heaven forbid i throw a cable away) and sure enough grabbed an old cable during setup

Just swapped it out and away she went 110mbps on the 1gb link

I apologize for my lack of brains

I think you mean 110MB/s on a 1Gb/s link (which is about the right maximum).
