After issues upgrading to TrueNAS 25.x from 24.x I installed 25.10.2.1 successfully as a fresh install. I “lost” my Virtual Machines I had defined, but the zvols are still there for the 3 virtual machines I had defined earlier. I don’t see any instructions in the docs, nor does a general search in the forums or web indicate how to create a “new” virtual machine and connect it to an existing zvol so I don’t lose the data. It is only a simple web server running Apache and I have backups/notes I can follow to restart from scratch. But I could save a few hours of work if I could just re-link my existing zvol to a new VM instance.
Ideas on what I am missing on restoring?
