Replacing boot-pool drive

Good afternoon! I have a pretty simple setup with TrueNAS consisting of 2 drives in mirror and one drive as boot. Seems the boot drive is failing as I get this error pretty regularly now : “Device: /dev/sdc [SAT], 530 Currently unreadable (pending) sectors.” The data drives are fine with no errors. My question is on best way to replace the boot drive and restore config. I’m new to this, so bear with me.

If I go to System → General → Manage Configuration → Download file, can I install new boot drive, do a fresh install of TrueNAS, reload the config, is that all that should be needed?

Do I need to disconnect the two data drives prior to installing TrueNAS or does that really matter?

Thanks in advance!

That’s all that’s needed. You can keep the data drives connected. If you have encryption, make sure you download the Sys Config with the secret seed option

Awesome! Thanks for the quick reply.
