Reseating of passive NVMe carrier card causes one device not to be seen on 25.10.1 - works on 25.10.0.1

X10SDV-4C-TNL2F with a passive dual NVMe carrier card in the x16 slot (bifurcated to 4x4x4x4).
Originally installed on 25.10.0.1 and updated to 25.10.1 without a problem.

Yesterday I removed and then reinstalled the carrier card to install a fan. After restart of the system, the NVMe Pool (mirror) showed as degraded with one device missing (unavail).

Both NVMe SSDs (Micron 7450 pro 1.92TB) are recognised in the BIOS and seen with lspci
But only one drive shows actually up with lsblk.

  • reboot didnt help
  • CMOS reset didnt help
  • replacing carrier card with identical twin didnt help
  • replacing both SSDs with another brand (WD SN700) didnt help - only one of the new drives shows up.

Finally I rolled back to 25.10.0.1 and bingo - everything is back to normal. (Tried 25.10.1 again and drive is lost again)

Does someone have an idea whats going on here ? Eventually I would like to updateā€¦

:thinking: Can you open a bug ticket and attach debugs both from 25.10.0.1 and 25.10.1 ?

Problem disappeared after rolling back and re-upgrading again.
