I’ve tagged perhaps 50 posts as SPAM, and there are many more. Gee, does this happen every morning?
It does appear that I am “trusted” enough to report SPAM, because after I report it, the post gets de-listed.
Ideally, any account with just 1 post that is SPAM, should be flagged to be removed. And prevented from further posts. Any account with more than say 5 posts, and only 1 of SPAM, should be flagged for review.
Edit: Now it appears I have reported too much SPAM, and it wants me to wait 13 hours before trying again. So, enjoy the 20 - 30 more SPAM that I could not report
They are really too much, and so different… i could unlist someone flagging as spam but is not working for all…
They are all @winnielinnie friends come to the forum for revenge, after Core has been killed
I can close and unlist the threads (I do both because spammers still reply to unlisted threads), but I’m still flagging them so you all can take action against the spam accounts.
@dan Maybe it is a limit with my privileges but I cannot delete a user if I do not know the user name. When you unlist the thread, I cannot see it so I cannot remove the user. Or maybe I’m doing something wrong, very possible. Closing and flagging it would be probably better for me.
One of you other moderators can tell me if I should be doing it differently.
I can see unlisted threads, so I’m sure you can as well. But when a post is flagged, it should go into a review queue until someone deals with it–but if someone else deletes and blocks the user, that will of course take it out of the queue.
That may be what is happening. @Johnny_Fartpants is being very quick this morning. Time for me to get out of the house and go do some shopping. Being retired has its benefits.
