I had gb1 nic setup for…something. I honestly don’t remember what (maybe vms?). There is no active traffic on this nic when viewing them from the dashboard. Also all SMB shares are accessed via the primary ip on gb0.
This morning I disabled it and removed the config on gb1. After that I noticed my SMB share went offline. The SMB service was set to use gb0 and .111
Restarting the service made no difference.
Adding gb1 config back and setting SMB to use both IPs restored the SMB shares. I tested the shares again and verified traffic is only using gb0. So I’m not sure why 172.30.1.145 is needed for my SMB service?
Did you configure a static default gateway and DNS server along with the static IP configuration on gb0? Maybe that is missing after you disable the interface with DHCP.
Also: don’t configure two interfaces with addresses in the same network.
