SMB share,checksum error but only on windows backup files

Hi.

I have a SMB share and I use it for media and 2 computer backup. But I have recently come with checksum error on my 2 drive in mirror. I have only one pool.

The strange thing is that all file are ok, even la video ones, the only to that always come bad are window image file from the win7 backup:

/mnt/tank/[mynas]/Backup/[myPc]/WindowsImageBackup/DESKTOP-1OE1DF2/Backup 2025-03-10 135639/9c893598-4796-11ed-8e32-a8a159e84250.vhdx

if I delete the file and clear the checksum, the drive came healthy, until I do another backup and the same file is corrupt, and I does so on the 2 pc I backup on this server…

Hi and welcome to the forums.

This is an odd one indeed. Could you perhaps try a backup with Macrium or Veeam etc just to rule out Windows Backup?
