StorJ price increase Warning

Yeah, it isn’t great, for now, I restored my account (it doesn’t delete until the next billing cycle) and I redid my backup. This is a secondary provider for me, so we will see how it goes.

Not mutually exclusive…

Just a heads up that we’ve heard the feedback from our users on this topic. We’re still figuring out internally our plan around this. I wanted everybody to rest assured we’ve read it all and are carefully evaluating the situation and its potential impact to TrueNAS users.

Thank you Kris for the update on the impact of the StorJ changes.

Just got this today, after I’ve already switched backup providers:

Hi Storj Customer,

We heard the feedback on the new $50 monthly minimum and have decided to keep it at $5 per month, effective immediately. All other pricing details remain as previously communicated.

Your deadline to decide has also been extended to July 30, 2026. If no decision is made (or if you’ve already opted out), your account will be frozen on July 31, 2026 — at that point, data access and downloads will no longer be available unless you accept the new pricing. Frozen accounts are deleted after 45 days if not resolved.

Until the freeze date, you retain full access to your data, including downloads.

If you’d like to keep your account active with no interruption, you can accept the new pricing any time before July 30.

I have only received a general mail that the price increase does not apply since vis Truenas.

I have never received any mail from Storj about any increase before. Or any account freeze warning, or required answer from me.

My Truenas deal expire mid August, so assume $7/tb thereafter.

Which is to expensive.
