Surprise! Not all Storj buckets are the same!

I reported a bug whereby I couldn’t use buckets from the TrueNAS GUI that were clearly on my Storj account. I thought it was a bug. It’s not. It turns out that all men are created equal, but not all buckets are created equal. Here’s the story from my bug report: [NAS-129917] - iXsystems TrueNAS Jira

This is a tricky one. Storj does some special setup / tagging on buckets on their site which makes them usable for TrueNAS CloudSync. Buckets that are greyed out were created in the vanilla Storj UI and won’t be available for our TrueNAS CloudSync backup.

If you log into the Storj UI through this link, buckets created there will become available in the TrueNAS UI:

Additionally, I believe Storj can convert a bucket on their end, but there is no automated process for this today. It would require sending them a support request with the bucket in question. If they get enough requests for this kind of thing they may provide a way to automate it.
