Swapping ethernet interface

I’ve recently upgraded my home networking from 1GigE to 2.5GigE. I just added a 2.5GigE PCI-E card to my TrueNAS box running SCALE (Fangtooth RC1). I configured the new enp0s8 interface to use DHCP, set a static lease on my router to my normal management IP (192.168.1.25) , and then adjusted the original en0 interface to use 192.168.1.26.

I confirmed I was able to access the management UI on both IPs, then powered it off and unplugged the cable that was in the motherboard 1GigE en0 interface and tried to boot it up. It doesnt want to properly come up when en0 is offline.

After reconnecting en0, I see a specific note that the applications service was unable to start because en0 was not online. Is there a simple way to get everything to look at enp0s8 instead, or do I need to hook it up to a keyboard and monitor and disable the ethernet port en0 in the BIOS so that it only sees and uses the one ethernet interface?

Ideally, I’d love to leave en0 disconnected but also set to DHCP in case it’s needed again. But I want to only be using enp0s8 much more, so that I can get 2.5GigE speeds when moving files from my desktop machine to it. Any thoughts appreciated.
