Here’s what my brand new in the retail box Xeon heatsink looks like. What do you guys think: should I add some more thermal paste, or should I just scrape off whatever there is now, and smear my own thermal paste instead?
Remove the existing paste with isopropyl alcohol and apply your own.
Not worth risking some kind of interaction between different mixtures.
