TrueNAS-24.04.2.4/5 bug warning

I upgraded from TrueNAS 24.02 to TrueNAS-24.04.2.4, found an update and updated to 24.04.2.5. I could not find any installed apps and decided to reinstall them.
I selected an app (transmission) and choose “Setup pool to install” and at the prompt “Choose a pool for Apps” I selected my only existing pool: “tank”
The system started doing something, but after a short while the system just rebooted/crashed and got in an infinite loop of starting up and reboot/crash: it breaks the NAS.
I reinstalled from an USB stick and retried this with exactly the same result.
Guess I will create a VM and use a docker setup for my apps or try the new Electric Eel release, but: be warned!

If you are effectively starting afresh (or if you only have data in your tank pool and no apps), then you might as well use Electric Eel now and avoid any pain from upgrading from the Dragonfish Help Chart apps to the EE Docker apps.

So install EE afresh, and restore your config file and you should be good to go.

I just stored my config file, upgraded to ElectricEel-24.10.0.2 and restored the config.
However when I go to Apps and want to install an app (transmission) I have to click “Setup Pool to install” and have to “Choose a pool for Apps”.
In this release choosing a pool did not cause issues…
