TrueNAs Sacale access speed

Hi everyone

I’ve a virtulized TruNAS Scale with 5 HDD (5400 RPM). I’ve a media library there. So when I access my media library from my internal wifi network I get maximum speed only around 95 Mbit. While if I access the server itself from wifi network I get 500 Mbit.
So why is my TruNAS access speed is only 95 Mbit? Is there any way to speed it up?

If it matters I’ve a separate 200 GB MVme for SLOG and L2ARC,

Can you post a screenshot of a transfer that shows 95 Mbit?
That will tell us how you’re transferring, among other things.

Side note, but virtualising can be linked to certain risks, I hope you read up how to avoid those pitfalls (passthrough the controller (and blacklist it if using Proxmox)). Also, depending on your clients you likely see no benefit from your SLOG and marginal benefit from the L2ARC.

While I was preparing the screenshot I thought that what if Infuse (through which I browse media library) - is the problem?
And it turned out that yeah, there is a limitation in Infuse software architecture - it doesn’t stream from SMB share more than 90 Mbit/sec.

Thanks for the side note ! Yeah, I know )

I’ve tested copying speed to my TrueNAS from HP Windows notebook and it’s around 70-75 Mbyte / s, which is around 550 - 600 Mbit /s. Taking into account that there is one WiFi link between them (right about 600 Mbit) - its a great speed!

So I guess TrueNAS is working as fast as your network allows. At least under 1 Gb speeds.
