X10SDV board - any memory considerations for the built-in 10GBaseT network port?

I managed to acquire an X10SDV-2C-TLN2F rev 2.00 at a great price, and as befits a low powered 2C/4T SOC, intend to use it only as a backup server with already-bought HDDs for storage only: no VMs, streaming, or anything remotely punchy.

It needs some memory, DDR4 at minimum, so the choice is affected by recent steep price rises and I was thinking of single module at 16GB. However, bearing in mind that the network ports are 10GBaseT only, will that make extra demands that mean 32GB could be a necessity? I’ve not used a 10Gbe network before.

BTW it will be connected to the main server which is also a X10SDV-4C-TLN4F board with 32GB memory running TN Core 13.3, RAIDZ1, 4 x 4TB HDDs.

16GB should be fine. You won’t be reading and writing that fast anyway from your current server.

Many thanks - very helpful!
