Yes, thats the one real legitimate negative side-effect of taking the scripts internal. We’re going to have to take on any ports to new architectures ourselves. Which the ARM one is a good example of and something we’re going to need to do officially at some point down the road anyway. We’ve already acquired some ARM server gear for this eventual purpose.
Good news is, once we do ARM, I’m not seeing a lot of other new architectures on the horizon. Maybe POWER is interesting to watch, but I don’t see much commercial traction even with the home lab folks happening for quite some time.
