This is my solution to install TrueNAS Scale 24.04 on a HPE ProLiant Microserver Gen8.
My hardware is:
- HPE Proliant Microserver Gen 8
- CPU: Celeron G1610T (2.3Hz/2-core/2MB/35W) Processor
- RAM 16G DDR3 ECC
- HP AHCI SATA Controller
- Data disks: 2 x Seagate SATA Ironwolf 10TB
- Boot disk: Kingston A400 120 GB SATA SSD connected to the internal USB port with a Sabrent USB3-to-SATA adapter
When installing TrueNAS-Scale-24.04 from scratch on a HPE ProLiant Microserver Gen8, the installation fails with the error message Cannot find sda3 not a block device.
I have tried this workaround without success.
On the other hand, if I firstly install TrueNAS-CORE-13.3 in BIOS mode, then I can upgrade successfully to TrueNAS-Scale-24.04.
