TrueNAS implementation for app specific virtual IP for service

Yeah, no kidding. I recently upgraded my jails to 13.3-RELEASE on CORE, which is only supported until December. I’m also waiting on something that will be able to replace my CORE servers.

No, because you’re running a whole other OS in there. But if that OS doesn’t have to do as much… TC have suggested that their apps in a VM might use fewer resources (including the VM overhead) than when running under TrueNAS, due to the lack of middleware overhead. How that will play out in practice, of course, remains to be seen.

… hoped to deploy as example unifi controller as a TN image…
easy
then went to managed ap’s and reregistered them via set-inform with new controller, using the non standard port, not to difficult.

problems though, there are services that specifically want to talk to controller on a ports under 8999 … and well, can’t assign them, also can’t assign additional ports to the container it seems.

would appreciate the assistance of anyone running unifi controller on TrueNAS

and then for non managed switches, getting them to see the controller and the controller to see them is not as easy.
