A SSD has an amount of spare cells, they are hidden from the official capacity. In datacenter more, in consumer less. If you format the full capacity, you can use only the spare cells hidden to the OS. If you have more spare cells by overprovisioning for the patrtioned area, it will extend the TB written in the partioned area, especially if you have a partition that is unused or unnecessary.

Nope - each cell has so many times it can be erased and written. The TBW depends only on the number of cells and not on whether they are visible or hidden.

Did you know that TBW assumes a specific workload?
In other words, as the workload changes, so does the TBW.

I can see that Garbage Collection and Wear Levelling would create hidden writes that would use up some of the TBW so I can see how different workloads could potentially make a difference. Since I have a current TBW issue with a pretty darn new SSD on my laptop, I would be interested to know how workload might make a difference if you have any evidence to support this.
