After graduating as electrical engineer a long long time ago, I switched to programming.
I first worked on IBM mainframes, and then switched to Sun Stations, and ultimately to Windows.
I missed some tools mainframe specific, so I wrote clones for Unix, Linux and Windows. You can see them on my site.
I use my NASs for entertainment though, being addicted to high end video.
I have a huge collection of MKVs, and I’m putting all of them on line with a SuperMicro server. I will build a 240TB pool for that.
