Aging IT/Electronics/Ham Radio tech
40 years experience. Started with CP/M, DOS, Windows (literally every version) Novell Netware 3.x to 7.x, VMS 5.5 and 6.x, Linux (mostly DragonOS for the Ham Radio Stuff. Not a linux guru at all and find many things that are very simple and straightforward in Windows GUI are fiendishly complex and require hand editing obscure text files in a command shell because it’s complex to get gui editors working as root. Have Linux mount a NAS share (TrueNas in fact) and get it to save the credential and remount automatically at boot. CANNOT be done from the GUI (which won’t even save the credentials - says it does but you have to reenter them each time). So not fond of it.
