Just a quick shout-out to the amazing team who’ve been working on the Apps changes in Electric Eel. We hit 100% of apps ported over from the TrueNAS catalog as well as 100% migration scripts completion this morning. Just in time for the drop of 24.10-RC.1 later today.
Looking forward to feedback from from folks upgrading, and this also means we can now turn our attention over to working on new Apps and Features in the Apps catalog soon.
Time to get cracking! In all seriousness though, grats to all involved in making this happen. For those of us that are entirely able to be serviced by basic Docker app functionality and a catalogue/GUI to make it all a bit of an easier/smoother process, future expansion of the apps catalogue would be amazing to see. There’s some pretty big potential to be realised by investing in building out the catalogue side of things, especially for simpler users like those of the upcoming HexOS.

Yea, we’re excited for whats next. The big push for the past several months has been to get us to parity with Dragonfish to allow easy upgrades. Now that we’ve reached that point I expect we’ll see the catalog begin to grow and gain new functionality as well.
