24.04 ==> 24.10 Checksum error to kernel panic

When upgrading, the upgrade goes fine, but upon boot I get a checksum error and it says press any key and it kernel panics.

Do you actually get to the grub boot selection screen?

Yes, and then I select 24.10 and it errors on the initramfs checksum error. It then continues to boot after a couple seconds and kernel panics.

I am running TrueNAS inside Proxmox 8.2 and have been for about 8 months. I amcurrently using it with the 24.04.2.2 kernel as 24.04.2.3 also had the same problem with the initramfs checksum/kernel panic error.

Any reason the initramfs is not working?

Well, I have tried to troubleshoot the problem, but it is strange. I can boot with the 24.04.2-2 kernel, but not any other kernels after that. When I look at grub, this kernel uses the same hdd and partition but I get that error. If I check the grub info the boot partition is different. If I change it to what grub sees I get the same checksum error.

I have the same problem!

As do I!

i’m also facing this problem. selecting 24.04.02 is the only way to get my truenas to come up running under proxmox. checked out using it with legacy and uefi bios
