This is our first update from the TrueNAS team. Moving forward, we’ll share periodic updates to keep our community informed about important release developments, including newly discovered issues and requests for feedback to support our investigations.

25.04.1 Technical Documentation Release Notes
Updates on the 25.04.1 release - 23rd June '25
As we approach the end of the 4th week in the field of TrueNAS 25.04.1, over 55,000 systems have now been deployed. Overall the product quality has been high, and we are thankful for the community for raising tickets on issues they have found.
Issues Identified Post-Release
Below is a summary of some of the issues which have been discovered since release, note this is not a complete list but highlights issues which we are aware could impact a number of users. The current target fix release is shown for each issue and those where the fix has been implemented are marked as Done.
API/Authentication
- NAS-136329: Using API Key with REST API in Scale 25.04.1 Returns Incorrect 401 (Done)

Authentication/Directory Services
- NAS-136338: Credentials → Users “Can not retrieve response”
[SCALE-25.10-BETA.1]- User management page displays error after upgrade to 25.04.0 in some limited cases
- NAS-135671: [KRB5KDC_ERR_PREAUTH_FAILED] Errors on AD Often (Done)
[SCALE-25.10-ALPHA.1, SCALE-25.04.2]- Fix issue with locally-stored AD creds getting out of sync
File Services
- NAS-136132: iSCSI only listening to local host (Done)
[SCALE-25.10-ALPHA.1, SCALE-25.04.2]- iSCSI service only binds to localhost after upgrade, breaking external connections
Networking (1 issue)
- NAS-136089: /usr/bin/cli --menu crashes when trying to create bond (Done)
[SCALE-25.10-ALPHA.1, SCALE-25.04.2]- CLI menu crashes immediately when attempting network bond/LAG creation
Reporting/Dashboard
- Reporting Disk Temp doesn’t load/show (Done)
[SCALE-25.10-BETA.1]- Disk Temperatures on some systems are not displayed in reporting, Bugs are not publicly available as private information was uploaded directly on the tickets.
Certificates
- NAS-136223: Can’t create ACME Certificate (Done)
[SCALE-25.10-ALPHA.1, SCALE-25.04.2]- ACME certificate creation wizard completes but fails silently with MatchNotFound exception
Data Protection
- NAS-136302: Snapshot page doesn’t always update when erasing snapshots
[SCALE-25.10-BETA.1]- Snapshot deletion page fails to refresh causing “snapshot not found” errors
Instances
- NAS-136082: Instance Screen scrolls to top when selecting vm
[SCALE-25.10-BETA.1]- VM instance list jumps to top when selecting VMs, breaking navigation for long lists
- NAS-136053: incusbr0 missing
[SCALE-25.10-BETA.1]- Incus bridge network interface missing after container configuration
- NAS-136327: Can’t delete VNC Password after instance creation
[SCALE-25.10-BETA.1]- VNC password field validation prevents removal after VM instance creation
