Ability to export / import custom application definitions

I’ve currently got a couple of custom applications (containers) that aren’t using the existing charts provided for 24.04. At present my only option to get some sort of text based dump of my configuration is to pull the deployment definition or the helm chart.

I’m a big fan of “infrastructure as code” approaches and the inability to pull configuration and track changes in a yaml or other plain text file is very frustrating.

24.10 is supposed to switch to docker / docker compose, so this might be a moot request when its released.

With the changes for the next release I’d expect the ability to easily import/export and application definition to be a lot easier. Hence i’m making the suggestion early
