Action! cannot write to truenas SMB

Hello,

I can fully access my smb share from windows. I mapped my drive and can always access it.

I have this recording software called Action! by mirrilis. I went in there and selected my destination folder to be a folder inside Truenas. I want all my recordings to be saved directly on the NAS.

However, i keep getting error saying “Cannot write files to selected folder. Please try to select another folder”

Not sure why because windows can fully see the share. I also run the program as admin.

You said you can access the share. But have you made sure that you can create files & folders using windows explorer in that share?

Yup, I had this running for almost 6 years now. Read write. I can move files to nas through winds explorer.

What I do know is that if you run a program as admin that program cannot see network drives. Maybe that is the issue that you’re having.

Maybe try using the UNC path instead of the drive letter.
