It seems this feature request should be closed and another one created for specific NVMe improvements (any alerts, etc)
Once i test it, if needed then i will file another bug report but I like to hope I won’t need to do that. I know some alerts were already being reported, it was just needing the ability to schedule SMART tests.
Just an update on this thread from last year.
25.04 does not actually test NVMe drives. In the GUI you can go through the motions to setup SMART testing, however the NVMe drives never are actually tested. This provides a false sense that SMART is testing NVMe drives. I went 10 days without a test being run, when I had the setup for daily tests, and I even tried hourly tests.
We will have to wait to see what 25.10 holds in the balance.
