I understand that TrueNAS is intended to be more of an appliance than a general OS. However … I’m having issues with a HBA and would like to verify that the OS is seeing it. Normally, I’d just us lsiutil. But, of course, lisutil isn’t available and “Package management tools are disabled”. So is there a way to add these type of tools or the capability of them in TrueNAS?
If you only want to verify if the OS sees it, can’t you do the same with sas2flash list or sas3flash list (depending of the age of the lsi)?
Because, I’ve never used sas2flash before. Now running it, I see I have issues:
LSI Corporation SAS2 Flash Utility
Version 20.00.00.00 (2014.09.18)
Copyright (c) 2008-2014 LSI Corporation. All rights reserved
No LSI SAS adapters found! Limited Command Set Available!

Exiting SAS2Flash.
Seems odd since I do get the LSI Post screen. Well, another data point. BTW, sas3flash returned similar information.
Thanks
Thanks dan,
NOW I’M A DEVELOPER!!! Look out World. LOL
I’ll try to install lsiutil and see if it gives the same answer.
I don’t see you mentioning what LSI card you actually have, do you mind sharing that?
Fujitsu 8-Port Modular RAID Controller D3307 PRAID CP400i SAS
Thanks. I have a couple of those, flashed with IT firmware obviously.
They show up with sas3flash when everything is working as it should.
Other than fully flashing the firmware I don’t recall doing anything special.
