Putting together a Freenas and wanted to add a 2 port Broadcom 10GBe nic model BCM957810A. I checked freebsd hcl and it’s not listed however other broadcom’s are. Has anyone had any success with this model?
That particular chip is about 12 years old at this point and Broadcom NICs on FreeBSD have never been very good. Chelsio/Intel are the recommended choices, and in newer generations Mellanox Connect X4 cards seem to work reasonably well.
