Apps are NOT seeing updates are available

If anyone knows about massive breaking changes, it would be truecharts.

I’m sure iX would have been perfectly happy with k3s/k8s if it was designed to be clustered.

And maybe this will be good for both projects. Way less complexity and needed knowledge to run compose for Scale. And way more control for Truecharts.

So TrueCharts are done (can’t say i blame them)

TrueNas apps will be ported over with the October update (EE).

How about updates for Truenas versions of apps between now and October or for those not immeditaely updating to EE?

They haven’t said anything about stopping updates for TrueNAS community apps.

Can you name which apps you’re thinking of specifically?

Edit: For example, sonarr was updated yesterday.
Edit2: I just noticed you previously posted a screenshot showing jellyfin and qbittorrent as ordinary TrueNAS apps. Both have current versions available as charts according to the TrueNAS GitHub.

My Qbittorrent from Truenas wasn’t being updated (along with those from Truecharts).
I installed a 2nd new instance from Truenas which was a much newer version they i had and managed to migrate all the data over, so now im current (i hope) but im wondering if this newer version will now be updated or will nothing be updated till after EE.

As I said, they released a slew of updates yesterday.

Have you seen anything to suggest iX would suddenly stop keeping the charts current just because they are changing the subsystem?

If you don’t trust the official or community charts, add your wanted app a custom app and the power will be in the hands of whatever container maintainer you choose to put your faith in, which could be yourself if you want full control and you’re willing to do the work.

Not the point. He posted up-topic that a new version of the chart was out, already released, but his system was showing that no updates were available. That’s the issue. But I don’t have any idea why that would be.

Until i manually installed it TrueNas Scale the app insisted it was up to date, which is clearly wasn’t at that time (see previous screeenshots). Just looking to clarify what i should expect from now on.

The OP literally asked:

… and my counter question was to ask what that concern was based on.

From what i’ve read, with the expected delay, any TrueNAS sourced apps should continue to be updated in Dragonfish.
I couldn’t and still can’t explain why my qbittorent was not getting an update but now i’ve gotten it updated “manually” i’m personally less concerned.

None of my App’s (Truecharts & Trusnas) were updating for about a month.

I’ve recieved explainations as to why the Truecharts were not.
I’ve manually installed a new instance of Qbittorent (My only Truenas app).

I’m not really concerned as to why Qbittorent didn’t update anymore, but it crossed my mind that maybe Truenas will not not create any more updates just like Truecharts had decided to do, so i asked the question.

If you notice it again you can doublecheck the version in the link to the charts at the bottom right corner seen here:

If your system insists you are “Up-to-date” yet there is a newer chart available when checking the link, try force updating the apps page (ctrl-click the reload button in Chrome for example).
If it still shows no update, report it as a bug.
