Backup Target Question

I am a noob. I have had my NAS running for about 3 years. It has 1 z2 vdev across 6 drives. What I want to verify is that I can backup a Z2 array to a Z1 array, or to a striped array on the backup target? (the backup target does not exist yet-planning stage)

Absolutely. There’s no requirement that a replication target be the same, or even similar, geometry to the source.
