Good morning everyone, being new to TrueNAS, I would like to understand how I can go about wanting to make Backups of my data (3TB or so) on the “old” Nas that TrueNAS replaced.
The first idea that came to my mind was to install this QNAP TS-230 at my friend’s house, and use Tailscale to connect the two systems, with RSYNC to do the copying (I would install it at my friend’s house so that I would have a backup at another location, and also because he needs to have a place to back up the data)
Is this a viable route in your opinion?

Sounds viable, though personally I would put Syncthing on both ends rather than rsync.
