Since this cannot be flashed to IT mode (AFAIK) is this still an issue?
Indeed it looks like you removed the one which was already flashed to IT mode instead:
Wow, odd - the drives are still showing up as connected to the “onboard” controller, and the pool appears healthy in TrueNAS. I will confirm the controller mode in iDRAC and see what I can see.
But also interesting - I wonder if that means I could use that external card to connect an SC220 enclosure if I wanted
Yup, looks like the controller is still correctly reporting HBA mode (PERC H730)
Again the H730 works in my setup in HBA mode flawlessly .

Knowing that extra SAS controller is already flashed to IT mode is great to know too - depending on the testing I’ll do this weekend, I might test functionality there too :).
