A freely available 3D printed bracket and duct for the LSI/Broadcom 9300-8e. The link has instructions for a compatible fan. It friction fits onto the heatsink.
nice! 12Gb/s is a substantial upgrade when expanders/jbods are in play.
interesting coincidence, I have to attach a fan to my LSI 9300-16e (the model that’s essentially two HBAs and a PLX bridge).
I’ve found out that the aux power you can tap into as an output for a 12v fan (provided that you make an adapter that is “backwards”), which is nice if your server doesn’t have power cables to spare. though I don’t own a 3D printer so I’ll just screw a fan to it manually.
