Br0 interface breaks after reboot

I had a head scratcher. The br0 interface wouldn’t even ping the gateway after a reboot. I had to delete the br0, and assign my 192.168.1.1/24 to enp0s31f6 and then network would work, I’d be able to ping the gateway, internet, etc. I’d resetup the br0 interface in the web UI and my apps/VMs/sandboxes all worked again… until the next reboot. I’ve been running 24.04 since May and upgraded to the latest version along the way. Before tonight; I hadn’t rebooted in more than a week, since the last Trunas update… 24.04.2.1.

I just happen to go the to update page in the UI to get the exact version and saw that 24.04.2.2 was available. Updated; and everything works fine again. Guess they fixed something with bridge networking in this one. . .

I updated to 24.04.2.2 and this issue had went away.

Did you make enp0s31f6 a member of br0 and did you remove the IP address configuration from enp0s31f6 and place it on br0 instead?

Yes I did. This made br0 work until I rebooted; then I had to delete the bridge interface to establish network connectivity.
After I updated to the latest Truenas SCALE update; I’ve rebooted several times and it is no longer an issue.

I posted not because I needed help – but in case someone else ran across an issue; update to 12.04.2.2.
