Bug: Dashboard stops working if NIC disappears

I’m relatively new to TrueNAS, so if anyone needs details/logs, you may need to give me some hand-holding to get what you need. That said, would like info on where I can report this.

It seems the same as: NAS-113777
(sorry, forum won’t let me post links to Jira)

I’m running: ElectricEel-24.10.0

I just set up a new NAS box, and after I got it installed and Dashboard set up, I powered down and moved the physical box to its new home. After coming up, the dashboard started “acting funky”. The Interface widget was blank, and I was unable to change anything by clicking the Configure button. More odd, if I tried to add a new widget, clicking the Add button did nothing…until I canceled out of the configure session then moved to a new panel in the navigation tree. At this point, the “Add Widget” pop-over appeared. I was also unable to remove the Interface widget, as the Delete and Edit buttons were greyed out. All of this was on Chrome 130.0.6723.92.

I decided to try on Edge - in case it was a browser caching issue - and had similar problems, but I was able to remove the offending Interface widget. At this point, the Dashboard editing started behaving again.

In MS Edge, I was able to see what the problem was. Apparently after powering down the node decided to renumber my network interfaces from enp[2-5]s0 to enp[3-6]s0. I was only using enp2s0, that disappeared and became enp3s0. The Interface widget was showing information for enp2s0, which was now gone and this appears to have caused the whole Dashboard to start acting up.

If there’s anything I can provide, please let me know.

Thanks!
