I have 2 T-FORCE_T253TY001T 1tb ssd and if i plug them into the front backplain any of them. there are 6. they wont be detected by truenas at all. but a old 112 gb drive used for testing only works. in any of the slotes if i connect the ssd by a mini sas to sata connector they work.
both controllers are running firmware version 16.
What?
My case has a 6 backpains in the fount for hot swap. Each backpain has 4 drive slots. 24 drives total capacity these 2 ssd are not being detected in any slot.
but other type of drives are. The 2 drives are working if plugged into the sata ports on motherboard or by sas to sata cable.
Puzzling. Did you check the cables?
yep other type of drives are detected.
Did you try a working slot?
WTF!!! i tried this already. and just for a wim i tried it again and now it works. ive tryed all the slots ALL OF THEM.
im going to go flip some tables now
And i think i found the problem for why this happened.
DONT GET This case i have. the tolerance between the backplane and hard drive cadies are Bad LIke really bad they click in place before the drives are seated properly resulting in a bad connection. not much a problem for full size spinning rust drives but a majer problem with ssd’s. Not cool man Not cool.
RROYJJ 4U Rackmount Server Case Chassis with 24 Hot-Swappable SATA/SAS Drive Bays stay far away from this case.
